New chapter of my Life

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Wow, a lot has happened since last week. My family came in for my graduation. Graduation was not what I expected. Kristi and I were so nervous in the line-up because we didn’t know if it was going to hit us or not and I don’t think it hit me and still hasn’t. Although….saying goodbye to my girls one at a time was not pleasant. Megan was first on Saturday night. On Sunday my family and some friends of mine went to Niagara Falls. It was fun to show my family what kind of friends I have and they love my friends. Later that night we taught my parents how to play beer pong and flipcup, haha.

Monday came…and it was time to pack up my college life. Thank god my parents and some friends helped Nicole, Tyler and I pack. We didn’t even finish packing until Tuesday morning the minute before we took off on the road for Arizona. Nicole was the 2nd to say goodbye before leaving the apartment. We were so exhausted and busy to actually absorb the fact that we were leaving for good. Amy was going to follow us but when we found out we had to go 60 mph with the U-haul truck and trailer she went ahead and met us up later in Columbus, Ohio. We stopped there for the night and had a late dinner with Ashley (a childhood friend) and her boyfriend, Michael.

The drive has been BORING going really slow and following the U-haul (dad and sister). That name needs to be changed to U-turtle….seriously! We’re now in Amarillo, Texas for the night. We have about 11 hours left to go to get home tomorrow. I’m really anxious to get home and see what life has in store for me and Tyler..of course! :)

Laptop battery’s dying!!

College Life: Done

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

I’m done with classes and final exams. I’m anxious to find out my grades but professors are extremely lazy because grades aren’t up yet. I feel overwhelmed because it’s hard to make sure I’ve said goodbye to everyone I know. I’m still a bit numb about the fact that I won’t be coming back to RIT and all.

I’ve been TRYING to pack….but haven’t accomplished anything. Nicole and I pretty much went through the apartment to divide our things up so it’ll be easier to pack when we leave. We just cleaned the kitchen and bathroom because her family’s coming tomorrow. My family’s not coming until Friday. Tomorrow is my last taste of college life and freedom.

I got a new tattoo. 4 stars representing the 4 men in my life who passed away: grandpa vik, grandpa peterson, step-grandpa ray, and tom. One star is not fully inked so I have to go back in tomorrow.

Zomer…happy I blogged now? ;-) I’ll blog more later for sure, but this week is just too crazy for me.

Slowly saying goodbye to LiveJournal

Friday, May 9th, 2008

LiveJournal has a friends page where you can read all their entries on one page. Now everyone is starting to blog on their own website using blogging services: WordPress and so on.

Google Reader is awesome! You can add your friends’ websites instead of going to each website daily to see if they updated or not. Google Reader will do the work for you! You can also add the widget from Google Reader so it will go to your Google homepage.

Anyways…today did not start off good for me. I had to go to the library to get some books for a paper that is due next week. (I hate going to the library…just do) I got my books and as soon as I was going to check out, I couldn’t find my ID. I knew I brought it in with me…and it was nowhere to be found. I had to put my books on hold and go back to my car to get my purse. I went to the office again and I saw the same woman who gave me my ID the other day. She said I had to pay $5.00…probably saw how blonde and irreponsible I am. I probably broke a record of losing my ID after TWO days. I got my books and was heading out to the car when someone almost hit me. I texted Nicole and told her I was going home to stay away from the world because obviously everything is going wrong!

Off to a BBQ with my lovely Tri-Sigma sisters then to a surprise Birthday party for a while.
