Dear Laptop, Don’t Die on Me!

January 19th, 2009. Posted in My Life.

I think I jinxed myself with the iMac I temporarily got. I returned it because I had my laptop and felt guilty for having “two” computers. Now my laptop’s acting up. I’m really limited right now because of my memory space.

The other night I checked to see how much space I had left.

Capacity: 55.77 GB
Available:  0 MB

I spent hours and hours deleting things I didn’t need and saving a lot of files/photos onto CDs. Now I have 9 GB of free space – that’s still not a lot. What’s crazy is that last year I added another memory card inside my laptop and thought I’d be good for a while, I guess I was wrong.

I’m debating whether it’s worth buying a Time Capsule or not especially with my laptop this old (2005). I blame technology for making it old when it was only 4 years ago!

I think it may be worth buying. I had the same problem as you. My powerbook from 2005 is now dying on me, but I fortunately was able to get the new MacBook Pro for Christmas. Recently, it was almost impossible to turn on my old laptop.. but I have so much on there, that I’m still grateful for my “time-capsule” (similar but not exactly) so that I can always access the stuff I need when it comes down to having to bury the powerbook. Why bother getting a new laptop and place everything onto it? I think the time-capsule is a worthwhile product in the long run, since you can just use it when you need to grab what you need at the time.

So, this is the comment I’ve been trying to leave for the past 18 hours, lol.

The time capsule is so worth it!!! I don’t know what I’d do without it.

    Yeah, that.
