Lake Pleasant & Dreaming of Home Projects

I never realized how close we lived to Lake Pleasant. Amy and I met up with some friends on Saturday to hang out at the lake. We definitely were unprepared. I only had a towel and some clothes with me. All our friends showed up with coolers, food, drinks, camping chairs, towels, sunscreen, and you get the idea. As I was putting our things in the trunk so the sun would not cook our stuff – I saw a metal folded chair we had left in the trunk. Who the heck brings a metal folded chair to the lake? We were jealous of everyone else who had jetskis, boats, and a floating water trampoline!

The water was really nice though and I turned out looking like a lobster. No joke. It was 109 degrees and my sunburn only hurts when I’m outside when the sun’s trying to cook my skin. That night we went out for dinner and we saw the same couple that I hit last month at the same intersection. My heart went bananas and I took a different way so they wouldn’t see me. I kind of feared that I’d see them again some day and hope I won’t again. We’re still working with our lawyer on this – I really am hoping this will be over soon but I highly doubt it.

I love my chandelier decal sticker I have on our bedroom wall. I really am trying to figure out how to remove it and still be able to reuse it again in our new house. I’m getting anxious to move as I keep coming up with new ideas and projects I want to do. My parents no longer want my bedroom furniture. I’m excited since I’m going to paint them & update the knobs. All I know for sure is no more red. I’ve had enough of red now.

Dad excitedly turned my bedroom into his ‘man cave’ and office. He painted it a nice grey-ish color and wanted us to come see his new room. Mom was leaning against the wall and accidentally got some body lotion stain on the wall from her arm. We were teasing Dad that Mom had to mark her terriority, haha.

I better go dream about decorating the house and hope that I’ll get an e-mail from our mortgage lender tomorrow.

Cupcake Date

Amy and I had a cupcake date last night. YUMM.. This “Ooey Gooey” cupcake by Tammie Coe is so special. The frosting is so thick & cold – delicious! This cannot be eaten without making facial expressions. We have decided that this was our last cupcake date until we reach our weight goal.

Tyler’s been losing weight…rapidly. He works outside and sweats so much that he needs wipers to keep the sweat off his eyelids. He also chugs down a lot of water everyday. Amy and I are now on the “Tyler’s Diet” and to sweat – we’ll do that at the gym. No problem, right? At least we have each other for support.

I’m excited for Monsoon season. Last night it was cloudy but didn’t rain up in Paradise Valley, only South Phoenix. We’re going up to Lake Pleasant tomorrow and it’s supposed to be 108 degrees!

The Boogeyman

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I’m thinking about getting a security alarm installed in our new house.

I’m always waking up in the middle of the night thinking that there’s a boogeyman in the room ready to attack me. I always make Tyler get out of bed to check the entire place to make sure the boogeyman doesn’t exist.

The same exact thing happens with my Mom and even one time she thought my Dad was the boogeyman and ran around the house while my Dad was chasing her to get her to calm down. I’m so glad that has not happened with me and Tyler.

I wonder if this happens to me because when growing up I knew my parents could hear everything even hear me turning the pages while reading Nancy Drew books. I knew I was safe in their hands. With Tyler, he’s hard of hearing and cannot hear a thing at night because he’s heavily sleeping and snoring!

Maybe I need to stop reading the news about all these bad things happening.
