In the Funk!

It takes 50 pictures to finally like this picture of us.

Don’t you hate it when you’re in a funk and cannot figure out exactly why?

I need to snap out of the funk I’ve been in since this morning.

I’m the kind of girl that likes to plan ahead and have an idea of what I want to happen within the next few years. It bothers me not knowing what’s going to happen in the near future now that we’re married, working full-time and going to be homeowners next week.

I realized in order to get out of this funk – I need to create new goals and dreams. I sent my Mom a “OMG I’m in a funk. What am I good at?” e-mail. Mom had some really good ideas. She thinks I should do some side work and put together business cards, do wedding invitations, and other print design work. I think I’ll look into doing this after we move in our new house. I’m excited to see where this will lead me to in terms of discovering myself and my purpose. I jokingly told Amy if this becomes something serious it should be called “Out of Funk Design”.

Maybe in order to get out of this funk.. Tyler needs to find his wedding ring!

I know what you mean… I’m in a funk lately, too! But I know where it comes from…
On someone’s blog I saw a “100 in 1000″ list – basically 100 goals (big and small) they wanted to accomplish over the next 1000 days. I think that’s an awesome idea and have been working on mine!

I am the SAME WAY! I want to plot out my whole life, at least in general terms. How many years til I get married, then how many years til we start trying for kids, where will we move to, etc.

    It’s nothing short of exhausting.

I can totally relate to this, I’m feeling a lot better now that we’ve come to some stability with my job change, but before that I was a little miserable. At the same time, for all the planning in the world everything can change in a moment. Finding a way to enjoy that in the moment feeling is priceless… if exhausting!

I also enjoy planning my life in advance! I just can’t help but to get into a rush of planning activities. I get frustrated when things don’t exactly go my way; however, it’s always good to have a plan. As a freelance designer I’ve been thinking of doing wedding invitation prints myself. I have a few friends who do them and they enjoy it. I hope you find something you love to do soon. :)

Ugh, I hate when I get into funks. They come out of no-where and BAM! Have you in their grasps and make you question what you’re doing with life and what you’re ultimately good at. I admit that the name of “Out of Funk Design” is amazing and I’d totally hire them. =)

I love that as a business name idea! If you do end up doing design work, let me know. I’m going to set up a space on my photo website to pimp out my friends who make cards, etc.

You’re in the midst of a lot of change right now–it will definitely all come together for you though.

Love that picture of you two!

I wish I had talent in making invitations/cards. I’ve tried. I think it could be a really neat thing for you to do… Maybe start an Etsy shop!

In a way, I kind of like when I get into a funk like that. Because it forces me to start asking me questions like, “Okay, what is it that I’m really passionate about? What am I good at? What should I really be doing right now?”

I’m excited to see what the future holds for you! You are incredibly talented and incredibly passionate. I’m sure there are so many things you could do that would bring you so much joy. (And, for the record, “Out of Funk Design” totally made me giggle. Heehee.)

Oh – and I adore your new layout! I don’t think I told you yet! I like that we are both going with the turquoise & cursive. Preeeetty!

I like the name – “Out of Funk Design!” – You should totally do that. I think you’d get really good recognization if you do wedding invitations. There’s so many people out there who cannot really find good wedding invitations; so if you make gorgeous ones, they definitely will use it and would recommend you to their friends. Go for it!
