Making a Decor Statement!

Remember our striped wall last month? As much as we both liked it – I hated how it was making the room look so dark! Friday night we stayed up painting. My parents and Gil, a family friend, came over and we started drinking. I eventually got tipsy and we couldn’t finish painting or else the stripes would have not been straight at all!

We were at Michael’s the other day and came across these huge letters. We decided on Luxe and wanted to make it our statement so we spray painted them white and hung it up so it’s the first thing people see when they walk in.

A co-worker of mine didn’t want this bench anymore and gave it to us. We absolutely love it & wanted to use it for our “mudroom” by the entrance. We painted it a creamy white color.

We had these frames that we found while unpacking. I went to a scrapbooking store in town and came across some really cute paper for 85 cents per sheet. I love how they look! I love it & can’t wait to do more with the wall. Overall we spent around $50 in this room so far.

LOVE THIS! Makes me want to do it on a wall in our dining room now! I don’t know if I’m talented enough to do the math of how wide to do the lines… and then how do you get them straight? But I LOVE the lighter colors you chose.

The bench is awesome too! Makes me want to go yard sale shopping to get a bench for our entry way.

I’m terrible at interior decorating, I suck at coming up with ideas so I think I’ll take some cues from you. You have a great eye!

I found you through Confessions of a Jersey Girl. Loved your story!

This room looks great – and on a budget! I really love the framed scrapbook paper, such a smart idea.

HOLY CRAP. Your home’s decor looks like something out of a Martha Stewart magazine — And I mean this in the very best way possible. It’s totally amazing! It looks so professional and pretty and ‘grown up’ … But without being over the top.

I must admit, I’m extremely jealous. ;Insert wistful sigh here.; You’ve got a serious decorating talent. <3

Your sense of style is absolutely gorgeous! You have such a good eye for design, color and making things so inviting and beautiful. Lovely job! You’re making me antsy for when I own a home I can decorate however I want to someday…including pretty striped walls!

I love that you framed the scrapbook paper, too – I recently framed some pretty fabric I had leftover, and also some Martha Stewart wrapping paper. Random, lovely and cheap!

Oh, and the “luxe” is PERFECT. Love it love it!

You are so creative! I love what you’re doing–I never would have thought to do that with paper!

I love the framed scrapbook idea! I’ll definitely do that when we move to a bigger apartment next month!

By the way, what does “luxe” means?
