Random Obsessions About Me

We tried getting rid of Tyler’s forehead lines before taking pictures.
He swears he’s stuck with them forever.

- I cannot go to bed unless the door is closed & locked and the closet has to be closed. If it’s not closed I’m going to wake up in the middle of the night screaming thinking that there is someone in closet and force Tyler out of bed to close it. Fortunately he never remembers doing this the next day.

- The window blinds has to be faced down because I would rather have stalkers, robbers, or serial killers get on a ladder to look down through the blinds than easily look up. Sometimes I have Tyler go outside to assure me he can’t see through them.

- I cannot wake up the first time the alarm goes off. I’ll set the alarm an hour before I have to wake up and reset it every 5-10 minutes and then I’ll finally get up! This drives Tyler crazy!

- I have long hair so that means it takes longer to dry my hair. After I shower & put make up on I always crawl back in bed and sleep for 10 more minutes to air dry my hair a little bit before I blow dry it.

- My current food obsession is a fried egg sandwich! I love the yolk!

Do you have any obsessions that are random?

I am basically one big obsession…

-If I touch something with one hand, I have to touch it with my other hand.
-I cannot fall asleep if the last time I saw on the clock was an odd number. I generally hate odd numbers.
-If I don’t do every single step of my “getting ready for bed routine” then I cannot fall asleep, and I will get up to complete it. This drives my boyfriend CRAZY.

I suppose most of these are bedtime things, but I am a little obsessive about sleep in general.

I do the blind thing too! But I do it for your reason but also because in the morning it stops the light shining in.

pretty lady! perfect couple!

that’s been your food obsession for like months now! slimey baby chicks. ew :p

i noticed this morning looking up at my window that the blinds were turned up, and everyone else’s were down. i need to change that later today.

first, you two are adorable! second, i have issues with closing doors and blinds too. i always feel like i’m in a fish bowl and everyone is watching if the blinds are open.

If you like fried egg sandwiches, try making a toasted sandwich and then popping a poached egg on top of it! You can pop the yolk and it’s incredibly melty & delicious.

The one thing that I don’t miss about long hair is the drying time. It takes me 10 mins. to dry mine when it’s this short, and it used to take close to 20. I love my thick hair but seriously!

I can’t wake up the first time my alarm goes off either! AND I fell asleep for almost an hour today after my shower… I love doing it in the winter because it’s warm and cozy in my bed!

This isn’t really an obsession but I travel a lot and always, always have to step on the plane with my right foot. If I don’t, I freak myself out thinking the plane is going to come crashing down.

And I have a night routine that if I don’t follow through on all steps then I can’t sleep at all and have to get up and finish it.

Also, when I worked in theatre, I had an obsessive routine that I had to do before each show otherwise I was afraid that the show would come crashing down around me!

Um so I may adopt your crawling back into bed for 10 minutes while my hair dries routine… it sounds so convenient! :-)

I do the same thing with my alarm clock. I actually kind of drive myself nuts with it, but getting up in the morning is just so difficult.

I like the fact that you get ready for the day but climb back into bed before you start the day… awesome! :)

my room would be better served with curtains, it faces the east and I get a huge sunwich in the morning…

another thing the curtains would cover up is the fact that my lame metal blinds’ edges have been bent all to hell by a very curious kitty who likes to look out the window and imaginary pounce on innocent inconspicious birds.

Does anybody really get out of bed the first time they hear their alarm clock?

You’re so lucky that you see hot air balloons every morning! That’s my dream.

I’m the same with blinds, closet, dry hair time and alarm clock. :-P

Reading this entry makes me wondering about my boyfriend’s quirks. Mmm..this should be interesting because he have ADD and OCD.

By the way, thank you for telling me which paint to use on my lawn chairs. I did a sample test and it works great! I’ll send you pictures when it’s completed.

I’m pretty stupid about making the bed. I can’t function if it’s not made and I know it.

I don’t know what it is about the bed, but I need to be made before I leave for work or it’s one of the first things I do when I come home from work.

You two are adorable.

My quirks are:
1. I have an obsession with color coordinating everything.
2. I must have ice water every night before bed, and I have to make it a very particular way.

This post makes me really happy because I, too, shower, get partially ready and then take a 10-minute power nap. And one of my current obsessions is a clean house. And using the crock pot. (OK, that’s a weird combination, but I love both. Separately.)
