One Year Anniversary Coming Up

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

Exactly a year ago it was the beginning of our wedding week. We were anxiously excited and our apartment was full of friends even that some had to leave their suitcases out on the patio. Thank god for Arizona’s warm weather!

The girls, my mom & aunt threw me an awesome Bachelorette party! After seeing my mom disappear at times to giggle and get overly excited on the phone, I knew she was up to something….

a fireman stripper!!
(there’s more naughty pictures but obviously not safe for this post!)

Both of my grandmas were there! One was gasping on the couch & the other was trying to keep the stripper away from her with her cane. It was so much fun but not too much when the stripper slathered his sweat all over me. It was indeed a great night even after waking up to an extremely messy apartment & getting it spanking clean within minutes with 10+ friends’ help before family relatives were coming over.

I even left my wedding dress in the trunk for months after the wedding. I don’t see the point of keeping it when I’m never going to wear it again. I wish we had a “Trash the Dress” session. I guess it’s still not too late to do that…

I recently ordered our anniversary cake. It was part of our wedding package that the bakery would re-create our wedding cake for free! With so much happening this month, we’ll just go out for dinner and hope that J & H won’t show up & crash the night. ;) Long story but we were interrupted on our wedding night with the hotel letting us know that J & H were downstairs and wanted to come up to our room. Apparently they had a little bit too much to drink. So now they should feel special that we’ll always think of them every year!

I’d do the whole 2-week vacation again in a heartbeat if we could just so we could have time with our family relatives & friends that live all over the country. Someone get married already so we can have another reunion!

I came home on Friday to find a package sitting by the front door. I knew it was this lovely personalized sign that I ordered from Sweet Savannah! The bottom says, “Est 2008″ since that’s the year we got married. I immediately put Tyler to work and had him hang it up in our kitchen. Of course he’d do anything for his last name!

We’re still not sure what we want to put on top of our cabinets yet. It won’t be chicken, roosters, & wine racks like I notice that a lot of the homeowners here do with their kitchen (Mom, your kitchen’s an exception!). We also need new high stools for the island since the ones we currently have are wobbly and from IKEA.

I love our new table we purchased from Fry’s about a month ago. I thought this would actually make us want to eat dinner together instead of using the coffee table and watching TV at the same time. We’re still working on breaking the habit. We bought our sectional couch from Macy’s on Labor Day weekend but didn’t get it until 4 weeks later. It’s microfiber and the only thing I hate about it is getting shocked when Tyler would lean in for a kiss or hug after getting up from the couch.

We’re taking a break with our house projects until after the Holidays. At the end of this month we have our anniversary and both of my parents’ Birthday AND Thanksgiving too.
