We got our Christmas lights up on Black Friday – we were practically the first one on the street. A trip to Home Depot was made and we avoided the icicles! So many people in Arizona have icicles up on their houses and the majority of them are white. My parents are guilty of this but I forgive them since they got some red and green lights on their bushes too. It’s exciting to see colorful decorations instead of just all white.

We had to go to three(!!!) different stores to find some magic clips to hold our lights up since our roof is Spanish style. These clips we found made our lives easier & we were able to get our lights up in minutes… of course after my dad brought the ladder over since we don’t have one. Another thing to add to our list of things we need. (That list is getting LONG!)

P.S. I still haven’t forgot about the “pictures of my life” post. I will get to it possibly this weekend. There is still time left to go over and comment if you haven’t done so!

Love it! We put our Christmas tree up a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, but we put our lights up around the end of November. All of our lights are white (icicle and strands) because we were looking for a “classy” look. Next year, we might go toward white icicle lights with colored lights around the windows and doors.

Hello!
I just found you through Kyla and had to say congrats on getting them up :) I think people here in Winnipeg just leave them up all year because winter lasts so freaking long, and just turn them *on* in December :) Yours look lovely!

They look great! I wish we could put up lights but we live in a tiny little apartment. Hopefully next year we will have a bigger place.

Merry Christmas!

I can’t wait to have a house to put Christmas lights on the outside of. For now the lights taped to my wall will have to do.

I am one of those guilty people who only decorated in white lights. I leave the color to the ornaments and such. I like a clean look to my festive galore :P

I love spanish style houses!

I made it a point this year to go multi-colored. It seems like people got tired of it and went to all white, but now I want that traditional colorful Christmas like when I was a kid.

The house is so pretty! I love it! I have red lights on the deck of my apartment and colored lights around the doors and windows! I figured it was probably the most we could get away with!

Nice work with the lights. My spouse is not a fan of the colored lights like I am, so I am stuck with only white lights on the front of the house. Oh well, I can be envious of others.

Well your many trips to get lights paid off because the house looks fabulous!

Awww, I love it! I know what you mean about the colored lights, too. Growing up, we always had the bright colored lights on the house and that’s what always makes me feel nostalgic and Christmassy. The year my parents switched to the white icicle lights I was all, “NOOOOOO! Do not want!”

Of course now I rather like them. I’ve gone to the dark side, apparently.

Heehee.

In any case, your place looks just lovely!

I love the lights on your house. We don’t really do that where I live (Germany).

I just found your blog via Stefanie’s blog (http://yeahhonestly.blogspot.com/) and I’ve added your list to my feed reader already.

I also sent you a request to follow you on Twitter (just wanted to tell you so you’re not thinking who the hell is that). My tweets are protected as well, but if you sent me a request I’ll add you on there as well. My blog is private but if you are interested I would send you an invite to read it.

Looks good, though when I get a house I hope I have enough to go overboard with the grass lit up, and huge figurines, the whole nine yards.

i LOVE seeing color on people’s houses, my kids do too! It makes driving around looking at lights that much prettier :D
