Tis the Day…

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Exactly today 25 years ago, my Mom was at the hospital going in labor and around 3:45PM I decided it was time to come out after being 2 weeks late.

The result of my arrival broke my Mom’s tailbone. Lovely, huh?

Thank you to everyone who sent me an e-mail, wrote on my Facebook wall, tweeted, and texted wishing me a Happy Birthday!

P.S. I am SO behind with Google Reader and I’m sorry! I plan on catching up soon sometime this weekend.

Pictures of My Life

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Remember the pictures you requested from me?

I tried my best doing all of them. It seemed a hassle to bring my cats over to my parents’ house and spend some time trying to get all the animals together and pose for a photo together. Sorry, Amy, I know you still love me anyways!

miss carly: Your favorite shop, the one that you always buy from. Your never-fail shop.

ulta

ULTA is my favorite store for make up, nail polish, perfume, & everything else that I may need. I love Sephora too but ULTA is reasonably cheap and doesn’t burn a hole in my wallet. (Photo found on Google)

jenniferalaine: Your favorite photograph in the house or the contents of the backseat of the car!

IMG_4188

Unfortunately we don’t have a lot of photos up yet. But this photo canvas is absolutely my favorite that was taken by our good friend, Jason, who is an awesome photographer!

There is nothing in my backseat… I swear! I guess I’m a front seat kind of gal. I have a bad habit of picking up mail when I’m on my way out so you can see where the junk mail ends up! And yes, that is a plate from breakfast when I was running late one morning.

Stefanie: Your favorite item in your kitchen

IMG_4243

Our Martha Stewart spice rack! I got Tyler this for Christmas last year. It’s fun to spin the rack looking for what you need instead of going through a drawer full of spices.

Haley: I’m actually pretty curious about what your building looks like at work

luxec_work

I love the way our building looks – our company is on the 2nd floor.

elle: Every room in your house and the view from your bedroom window

IMG_3808

We haven’t done anything to our bedroom yet except for painting it. I love the color – Glidden’s Gentle Tide. We loved the color when we saw it over at YHL - we’re going for the light blue/green look. Oh, and I love our organic duvet cover from West Elm! You probably can see by now which side of the bed we sleep on based on the silhouettes I made. (I’m still not finished with some rooms so I don’t want to post pictures of them yet. Please forgive me.)

This is the view from our bedroom window. See the little cute cactus? It’s gone. Tyler ripped it out earlier this week! I wanted the little cactus to stay, it was the only pretty thing (to me only obviously) in the yard. Too bad we can’t put an orange tree in our yard.. according to our HOA rules.

Elizabeth: Your desktop at work

I found this beautiful picture somewhere on Flickr. I hate Windows but I’m fine as long as I know I’m always coming home to my sweet iMac!

Meg: You in your winter clothes for Arizona

IMG_4249

Boring, I know!

Megan: Your neighborhood!

This is my neighborhood. We live on the far left and my parents live on the far right in the country club near the mountains. We only live 3 miles away from each other… and we’re not annoyed yet!

IMG_4165

I zoomed in on our house, woohoo!

Wishcake: Your current favorite outfit, or the accessory that always makes you feel happy and pretty (I know all of us girls have that!)

luxec_sis

This is my current favorite outfit! I love wearing black or gray nail polish and it makes me feel pretty since my hands are huge. I need to stop wearing my hair band on my wrist – it doesn’t make me look like a lady. Oh, and this is me and my 16 year old sister who loves herself very much!

See Sherm Blog: Your favorite part of your home

IMG_4240

This is our dining room! Currently we’re using a desk from IKEA as our dining table until we buy one.

IMG_4241

I love & adore my china from Kate Spade! I also used the red decorative plates from Crate & Barrel for our wedding.

Melisa: Your favorite Christmas Ornament and why!

IMG_4223

I’m glad you asked! We recently got a new ornament from one of Tyler’s customers. It’s a key that says, “First Christmas in our new home – 2009″. This is definitely my favorite ornament because the key says it all! We’re anxious to celebrate Christmas for many years to come in this beautiful home of ours.

jimaie.marie: I want to see the inside of your fridge!

IMG_4210

We don’t have a lot in our fridge. I need to make a run to Costco to get more Diet Pepsi because look, I only have one left!

We got our Christmas lights up on Black Friday – we were practically the first one on the street. A trip to Home Depot was made and we avoided the icicles! So many people in Arizona have icicles up on their houses and the majority of them are white. My parents are guilty of this but I forgive them since they got some red and green lights on their bushes too. It’s exciting to see colorful decorations instead of just all white.

We had to go to three(!!!) different stores to find some magic clips to hold our lights up since our roof is Spanish style. These clips we found made our lives easier & we were able to get our lights up in minutes… of course after my dad brought the ladder over since we don’t have one. Another thing to add to our list of things we need. (That list is getting LONG!)

P.S. I still haven’t forgot about the “pictures of my life” post. I will get to it possibly this weekend. There is still time left to go over and comment if you haven’t done so!
