Going Through Different Styles

I was looking through old pictures on my computer. I know for sure I have gone through a lot of different phases with hair styles and clothes. Duh…who hasn’t!? For a while in middle high school I had low self esteem and always had to wear a long t-shirt that covered my booty. I’m so glad I outgrew this phase quickly!

I had a friend, Katie, who lived across the street that was 5 years older than me. I remember the day when she came over and tried getting me to wear my jeans low past my belly button because it was the new trend. Remember those days where we had to make sure our hair was perfect when putting it up. Katie told me to trust her and put my hair up in a messy bun. I remember cringing at the feeling of my jeans being too low and my messy bun style hair! It was a torture at first to get used to. (Thanks for all the advices & fashion help, Katie!)

This was the era of bangs for me.
Blow drying it with a round brush every single morning!

 

2003 – Senior Picture

 

My hair looks ORANGE! This is one of those times when I bleached my hair.
I can’t believe I had twisted my hair on the top for my senior pictures.

 

 

Overalls, don’t you miss those? and how it was so cool leaving one strap off.

 

 

The beanie hat phase in college. A few of us bought the same hat and wore it all the time.
We even took “we’re too cool for you” pictures. Pfft!

‘Shaw’ is one of the many words we made up in high school. I never use that sign anymore. Did you see the necklace Tyler’s wearing in the video? and his earrings? Tyler stopped wearing them since he got a job. Thank god! I can’t imagine him wearing them again… I think he moved on.

Now I’m sure years later from now we’ll be laughing at the clothes we’re wearing now and the hair styles too!!

    And your hair does NOT look orange. Trust me. A hardcore bleach failer who had to go to work for 2 days with a frizzy mess the colour of Tropicana before she could get it fixed. Yes, there’s picture evidence. LOL!

    I just loved the video of you and Tyler!

    I think it’s interesting to see all the styles we go through as we get older. I did the twists on my hair thing which was interesting since my hair was curly/frizzy at the time. I used to dress more plain colors, and appear emo like. Maybe I’ll go through some of my files someday. :)

    Oh boy, I have all my old pictures burned onto the dvd from my computer that died a while back. I haven’t been brave enough to look through it for a long time! Gold mine of ew moments.

    Btw, my goodness, I wish I knew how to shop for the right bra back then, what a dreadful show of lumps.

    Oh, my gosh! I love this post! It’s so much fun to look back and cringe at the styles. I used to love overalls and would wear them at least twice a week! They should totally make a comeback. ;)

    Hey you graduated the same year as me! I can’t say me senior pic looks that cool though. It was just a head shot and my hair looks like doodoo. Hubby likes it though, so all was not lost.

That video is so adorable, I love that you made up your own words in high school, sarah and I used to do the same thing! We also had code names for people so they wouldn’t know who we were talking about in public or in our notes hahah!! oh man, high school.

    I seriously used to LIVE in my overalls (and I swore I always would!)Now I can’t imagine putting on a pair… but yes, I do miss them!

    In middle school I did this thing where I slicked my hair back into a bun all the time (with serious bangs of course!), and wore dark lipstick… those pictures are hard to look at!
