God Created the Grand Canyon, But He Lives in Sedona

April 26th, 2010. Posted in General.

Sedona was beautiful like always!  As somebody once said, ”God created the Grand Canyon, but He lives in Sedona”.  In the morning before we left, I checked to see what the weather was like in Sedona on my iPhone and it read 43 degrees!  Insane… but that didn’t stop me from leaving the house with flip-flops on.  Stupid decision I made since I was already cold the minute we arrived.

We managed to stay warm by going in and out of the cute little shops.  I’m impressed with how Sedona is very eco-friendly and green!  They even had recycling machines next to trash cans around town.

We had a lot of fun with the in-laws…which included a celebration for the guys getting new wedding (temporary) rings.  I guess it runs in the family that they lose their rings!  Now the ladies can stop eyeballing them. Just kidding…kind of!

On our way home we stopped and hiked a little bit to get close to the rocks. What a beautiful view and definitely worth the hike with flip-flops on and in the rain!  Now I’m looking forward to our next mini-trip to Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington in June for my brother-in-law’s wedding.

we just visited sedona late march for our 2 year dating anniversary-turned-engagement. there isn’t a time of the year sedona isn’t absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous. i do wish some of the shops were more eclectic/different along the strip, lately it feels like everyone sells the same things…sad.

next time you’re in sedona (when it’s warmer) you should visit slide rock, it’s a little bit of a drive on the 89A (i think that’s the highway?) but the scenery there is beautiful and you can swim in the fresh spring water.

What awesome pictures! They’re all so pretty and I especially love the last one. I live in total flatland Florida so one of my goals is to go hiking someday on a real trail. Looks like fun!

Looks beautiful! Do you know that ’90s country song “There Is No Arizona”? Somehow it made me think Arizona would look just like this. :)

oh gosh, that first picture makes me want to run away to Arizona for a vacation!! I have always wanted to take my boys on the Polar Express but thought of it too late this past year so this post has just reminded me so start putting away for that trip!!
My husband has never been to the Grand Canyon before, his parents weren’t big on traveling to see the sights and my mom was the complete opposite taking us everywhere to see everything! So I am definitely feeling the pressure of doing the same not only for my kids but for TJ as well!
This looks like such a fun trip!
