10 Year Anniversary

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Tonight at 8:15PM, it will be our 10 year anniversary of being together! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. I feel young but at the same time I feel old if it’s been 10 years already! And who says we can’t have two anniversaries?

We have a special story that we can tell our children some day. That we’re high school sweethearts. We never broke up or took a break. Sure, there were some bumpy rides along the way but not bumpy enough to break up. Even though there may have been some conversations of breaking up a few times but we never did. We even survived a long distance relationship from 11-12th grade. We even survived during the difficult times where people doubted our relationship especially some of our high school friends. Some of them even encouraged us to break up during our long distance relationship. That proved our love was strong enough to keep the bad influences out of our relationship.

We survived all of that and here we are 10 years later! I still look forward to seeing him everyday after work. Even when we fight, we can never stay mad at each other for long. It’s like a fight you have with your siblings where sometimes you forget you’re mad at each other 10 minutes later. We have our moments…of course, we’re not perfect but still very much madly in love!

I’m looking forward to the next 10 years with Tyler….even the pretty children we’ll have in the next few years!

P.S. I think it’s so cool that our 10 year anniversary is on the same day that William & Kate got married!

Our House in the Suburbs!

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

Welcome to our house!

Sigh. I know, we have a foosball table in between the dining room and living room.
I wish the foosball table was at least pink or something like that.

The entrance area on the left when you walk in

Dining room / living room

Living room where Tyler currently plays Xbox

This is my favorite part of the house!

Hallway to the laundry room, guest room and another guest room that is currently occupied (roommate). That sign on top is hard to read but it says “the field of dandelions”.
I plan on doing something different with this but this was for our guests last year.

The guest room and the theme is polka dots!
Some day I’m going to make it so pretty like my aunt & uncle’s polka dots room.

We just got the body pillow not too long ago from WalMart and
we got our fitted/flat sheets from my aunt & uncle.

The TV and dresser in the guest room. I’ve had that dresser since I was a teenager.
I hope to sand & paint it soon.

The bathroom that has access from both hallways

The view of the bathroom from the other hallway

This is what Tyler had to do when I told him to get out of the picture.
He wants me to tell you that I didn’t have to photoshop his guns. :)

The office which you see my pretty desk first thing when you walk in!

Tyler’s desk.. I can’t stand all the wires!

I love the starfish canvas that I did last year

We have big plans for our office (hint: one long desk instead of two)

The kitchen

Faux fireplace / entertainment center

Master bedroom (not current since we just bought a new mattress – upgraded from queen to king!)

Backyard (still dreaming of having a pool someday)

Of course we still haven’t finished decorating the house. We have a lot of years left to pay mortgage so we still have time.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our house. :)

Recap: Las Vegas…Especially Aria!

Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Our stay at Aria in Las Vegas was awesome! We arrived early Sunday afternoon and checked in. We were hoping to upgrade to perhaps a corner suite but that didn’t work. We were still lucky enough to get free breakfast & 2 free cocktail drinks anyways!

The coolest thing about staying in this room was we could control all the lights, temperature and open the curtains from our TV. We even had different options for our wake up call: open the curtains, turn the TV on, turn the lights on or play music. We made a stupid mistake of having the curtains open. Waaaay too bright!

Tyler’s parents & Amma! Ampa was back at their hotel sleeping. We had so much fun with them. My mother-in-law had so much good luck with gambling because she kept winning money. Tyler and I had to follow every move she made and played the same game she played (1 cent slot machines) and we still didn’t win any money.

This is when I became addicted to playing Roulette. Tyler and I would play together on a machine then sometimes play by ourselves. I think it was more fun playing together but there were so many “OMG” moments like we thought about putting money on a number but didn’t then it ended up the winning number, etc. It drove us nuts! We kept winning and losing so we didn’t really win any money in the end.

Me and Tyler in front of Aria!

Tyler and I walked around on the strip after his family went back to their hotel for the night. You know where we went? The Coca-Cola store! Yes, of course we had to take a picture of the Diet Coke section.

We also saw the largest chocolate fountain at the Belliago!

…and this for Easter (at the Belliago too). I really love the balloons. I wish my backyard was this colorful!

Our vacation in Vegas and with the in-laws wasn’t long enough! But we did have a lot of fun and it reminded us why we need to take go on vacation more often when we can. Anyways, I hope you all had an awesome Easter weekend!
