Recipe: Sausage Souffle

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

My mom decided at the last minute to go to Washington state to visit her mom during Easter weekend. So I had breakfast at our house for Easter. My dad and sister came over and had breakfast with us. I love the sausage souffle that my mom (and grandma) makes so I decided to make that for breakfast. I thought I’d share the recipe with you!

Brown sausage

While browning the sausage, work it on the bread! I used about 2 loaves of bread (8 slices isn’t enough).

Place bread into the pan, just pretend you’re putting a puzzle together.

Egg mixture (egg, milk, dry mustard, salt & pepper) then put aside for now.

Cover with sausage!

Put more bread on top.

Pour egg mixture over on top then place in fridge overnight.

The next morning….1 can of mushroom soup with 1/3 cup of milk.

Spoon soup over the top.

Top with cheese then bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.

YUMMM and serves 8!

I know there are a lot of different sausage souffle recipes out there but I love this one. Let me know if you try this!
