EcoParty Light Bulbs & 2011 Goals

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

A friend of ours had eco-party light bulbs in his bathroom.
You can guess what we did in the bathroom…and it’s sad to say we’re all 26 years old.
After all, our parents say we’re still kids.

My smoking hot husband! Blurry equals signing and that happens a lot with deaf people.

At least we had fun!

Perhaps it’s time to share my goals for 2011.

Lose weight. This clearly is a problem for me. I did lose weight after joining a sweat challenge in the area but then it got too expensive so I couldn’t continue and finish the challenge. Let’s just say it was about $250+ a week. Now I’m back on Weight Watchers and making it a routine to go to the gym more often. I’m trying to change my mindset to make sure that a trip to the gym is on top of my daily list. I have also started wearing my BodyMedia armband and I’m excited to actually be aware of how many calories I’m eating and burning. It also calculates how many steps I’m getting in daily & hours of sleep I’m getting. Pretty cool, right?

Debt-Free. Well, not entirely 100% debt-free but at least pay off all of our credit cards. After looking at our budget, we realized we could actually save more money and be able to do things if we didn’t have credit cards to pay off. So we’re anxious to make it happen this year! We have been doing great with earning extra money from Yellow & Savvy Design, rent money from Joe since he’s living with us and things we sell on Craigslist.

Vacation. Tyler and I haven’t gone on our honeymoon yet! We’re so anxious to go on our honeymoon soon. Although it looks like we might not get to go anywhere until later after summer. My co-worker is going on maternity leave in March and then Tyler’s company doesn’t really allow vacation days during the summer. Hopefully we can make it happen! I’d love to go somewhere alone with Tyler and be technology-free which means no phones (and sports)!

Overall my main goal this year is to really take one day at a time and live in the present instead of dwelling on the past and thinking too much about the future. I have a great feeling about 2011 and I’m going to make sure it’s a great year! I also hope you have a great year too!

2011…Seriously?

Happy New Year!!  We rang in 2011 at a party. Our awesome hosts got creative & made this 2011 sign with Christmas lights! We all had a great time dressing up & bringing over appetizers. We stayed until 3AM and then headed home.

We stayed up a little bit after we got home with 2 other friends and played foosball until 5AM. I even kicked my hubby’s butt at foosball! What a great way to begin the year, I know. :) For those of you who didn’t see my tweet about the foosball table, Tyler convinced me to buy a foosball table with our Christmas money. I’m just so glad it was on sale so we had some Christmas money left!

It snowed in some areas of Phoenix earlier this week!!! And it happened to be where I live so I just got home in time to see it snowing. I headed over to my parents’ house since they live closer to the mountains. It was that exciting that I had to take a picture of the snow on my sweater. Haha, don’t judge me! We never get snow in Phoenix. Sure, I’ve seen snow before especially when I lived in NY when I went to college…. but this kind of snow was different!

As I was leaving, you could see mountains with snow far away. It was gorgeous! I even turned around since I wasn’t that far away from my parents’ house to tell my Dad to check it out. He interrupted me and said, “You came back to tell us that?!” Um, yes, Dad… I’m a snow-chaser!!

Seriously, I don’t know where 2010 went. Just when I got the hang of writing 2010… I guess 2011 decided to roll in. Anyways, I wish you all a great Happy New Year!!

Birthday Weekend Recap!

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Finally my Birthday fell on a Saturday this year! Tyler asked for the day off so he could spend the full weekend with me. It was really nice receiving the royal treatment from him! We did some Christmas shopping on Saturday then went to PF Chang’s with my family for dinner. After dinner, we invited a few friends over to make gingerbread houses.

My friend made an amazing gingerbread house.
I told him it looks like a toy factory up at the North Pole with a red palm tree!

We even set all the houses up to make it look like a town.
At one point we were trying to decide who we wanted to live
right next door to in our so-called little town.

See my pretty house? Seriously, this was a little bit stressful trying to get the house together.
My mom helped me with mine and I’m just glad a house inspection is not in order
because we’d fail the inspection for sure with a hole in the roof!

Happy 26th Birthday to me! I turned 26 on the 18th.
I can’t believe it and it’s an age I don’t want to be at yet.
I lost track at 21. I don’t know where 22, 23, 24 and 25 went!

Tyler knew I wanted a camera but I couldn’t decide if I really wanted to make a big purchase or not for my Birthday. Friday night I told Tyler I didn’t want to buy a camera. On Saturday I quickly got the urge to buy a camera but then changed my mind. On Sunday I realized I couldn’t stop thinking about it and really wanted a new camera more specifically a Canon EOS Rebel XS. So Tyler took me out to buy the camera!

I’m in love with it!! I’m still learning how to use the camera.

See how clear the pictures are now with this new camera?!
Also do you see Tyler’s ring?
Yup, we bought him a new wedding ring after he lost it at the lake last year.
I love his new ring. Now we’re visually married!

Our pretty house with Christmas lights. We also did Christmas lights in the backyard.
I think next year we’ll do something different!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful week!
