My Flipflops Melted!

June 16th, 2008

It was 111 degrees yesterday on Father’s Day. Dad wanted all of us to go to the driving range and we did. It was fun especially to see dad happy doing what he loves the most! But the hot weather was definitely not fun. I’m looking forward to monsoon season, which supposedly started yesterday. According to the news, we have Excessive Heat Warning. It was 103 degrees outside at 10PM recently tonight. Insane!!!

Tyler had a job interview today and thank god there was a hotel next door so I went and read Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner in the lobby instead of sitting in the car with the AC blasting and waste gas. The interview went really well and he got the job but it doesn’t start until June 30th. Right after the interview, he got a call from Pest Control (pays REALLY good with FULL benefits) saying they wanted another interview with him. He’s overwhelmed with all these job offers that are coming at him because he doesn’t know which one to choose. Kind of hard to resist a job that offers full benefits anyways.

As of the update on MY job hunt – I’ve been in touch with a few companies so we’ll find out. I also have an interview on Wednesday at a cafe in Scottsdale for lunch with the editor of AZ Weekly Entertainment Magazine. I’m freakin’ nervous!!!!! R.I.T didn’t prepare me for a lunch-interview!!! I’ll be way too nervous to even eat or drink. Also it’ll be during lunch time so I can imagine how many people will be there and how loud it’ll be. I really hope I can get an Internship with the magazine since my dream job is to be in the magazine industry.

One Less Soul

Yesterday we should have left the house earlier than we did. Tyler had an interview in Mesa at 9:30AM and we left the house at 8:25AM since it takes one hour to get there according to the directions. We were completely stopped on the highway for a while. It turns out there was this horrible fatal car accident and we saw a body in the car.

Anyways, job hunting is driving me nuts now. I’m exhausted from applying and driving all over for interviews. It’s never going to end.

I

Tyler and I met up with mom at Stonebridge Manor where we’re getting married at. We met with the photographer that we chose, Fotos by Flint. I was pleased with Flint and his work he showed us. We basically went through the timeline of what will be happening and when/how we’ll take pictures. After meeting with Flint, we met with the florist from Zuzu’s Petals. I orginially wanted all red calla lilies for the bridesmaids and that didn’t work out since it’s more expensive. I’ll have the white calla lilies for myself and the bridesmaids will have red roses. At least I get calla lilies. ;-)

Tonight we went to Drinx, a bar, to meet up with Jason and other people for drinks before seeing Sex and the City movie. It was so much fun meeting more and actually getting to know more people. It’s a pain living at home all the way up North when everyone’s down in Scottsdale/Tempe/Mesa area. A lot of job opportunities in our field are in Scottsdale/Mesa so I think we’ll be looking for an apartment in the area. Definitely can’t wait to move out already. Haha!
