I LOVE my new job. I hope it’s not just an internship and hope they’ll offer me a job after internship. I don’t want to get my hopes high.

My first day was Wednesday. I came in and I filled out paperwork for 30 minutes before we had a meeting. I’m thinking…”OH Great, first day here and already a meeting!” Anyways, I am a marketing assistant to Kristina the Marketing Specialist. She explained to me that Terry, the Vice President and who hired me, was going to introduce me to everyone at the meeting. I didn’t understand 100% of everything that was being said at the meeting. Fine with me anyways because it does not really matter to the marketing team because we’re not the brokers. Everyone was so welcoming and introducing themselves throughout the day. When I came back from the meeting, I already had my name plate up! I spent most of this day sitting next to Kristina and Ben and watched them do marketing requests and took notes. Kristina, Ben and I went to Costco for lunch – it was nice to get to know them away from work.

Basically what we do is do marketing requests for the brokers. Brokers fill out a marketing request form asking for things to be done like – flyer for commercial land they’re selling with features listed and the price, upload it and send out a mass e-mail to their contacts, etc. Thursday I came in and started doing requests on my own… it was a bit frustrating at first because there are partners working together so I have to know who’s with who because of the files on the computer. I also had to learn what all these folders were for. Today I came in and continued to work on my own – until we found out that my computer didn’t have some things I needed to be able to do my work so the tech support guy came and fixed my computer. Today was another good day! I still need Kristina to call my voicemail and set a message saying to e-mail me instead of leaving me a message, haha.

Tomorrow = apartment hunting!!
Sunday = second wedding dress appointment & pool party!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Fourth of July was celebrated at Kim’s house. It was so much fun especially meeting more new people! Unfortunately we didn’t see any fireworks because of the weather Phoenix had. We saw fireworks in Anthem on the 3rd, which was so much fun and it was a long show.

Saturday the 5th – I went to Jason’s to have lunch and afterwards we went to IKEA! OMG…I love that place. I have to go back soon when I have more money.

Sunday the 6th – My mom and sister, Lauren, went with me to try on wedding dresses. It was fun! and I’m glad I liked a lot of them than nothing. One dress I really liked was ivory and it won’t look good with the bridal party. It’s so hard keeping this a secret from Tyler. I’m so used to asking him for his opinion but I can’t. Thank god mom was there to help me put the dresses on! If you want to see pictures, e-mail/IM me directly because I don’t want to put them up on here when Tyler reads this blog.

Monday the 7th – I woke up at 4:45AM for boot camp. Boot camp was HELL. As soon as we got home at 6:40, I went back to bed until 8AM. I had a second interview with a company today. I was so nervous because she wanted me to meet the marketing team and I assumed the team was like between 10-20 people, but there’s only 4 people on the team. I felt so much better. The VP wanted me to meet with them to see if they liked me and it went well! The team left the conference room to meet with her and discuss how the meeting went. She came back in and told me they liked me and would like me to work there. The job was orginially part-time but they offered me a full-time position and I start tomorrow!! I’m so excited!! I get my own cubicle! I will be working Monday through Fridays from 8:30AM to 5:30PM. I will be working with the team in assisting the preparation of marketing materials including flyers, proposals and presentations for listed properties in both hard copy and digital format. Also I will help do research to support agent projects including compilation of demographic reports, pulling traffic counts and gathering other data as needed.

After the interview… I went to Jason’s. He lives right by the office. We went out for lunch then sneaked into the Biltmore hotel and went swimming. As I was stepping in the pool, the step was apparently slippery and I slipped and jammed my toe. Now it’s all black and blue…even worse after I woke up this morning.

I’m going shopping today for work clothes and my whole body is sore and the toe is not helping too. It’s going to be a long painful shopping day.

I love monsoon season!! I love the smell after it rains. Last night there were TWO rainbows, which we saw from one end to another. We were so tempted to go find potluck at the end of the rainbow over Daisy Mountain. Today we could smell the wildfire that’s happening up North of Phoenix…sucks there’s a wildfire but I also love the smell of it. It smelled good outside all day. While on the smelling subject, I need a new perfume.

I had an interview today with NAI-H and it went well because she contacted me for a second interview to meet with the marketing team on Monday. The only negative part is that it’s part-time…but I don’t care anymore. I’ll take it if I get the Intern position whether R.I.T likes it or not.

I start Boot Camp next Monday! I’m excited and anxious but not looking forward to getting up at 5:30AM Monday through Friday for a month. I met with the trainers Jasson and Lori (they’re married) today. They’re really nice people and I think they’re going to be hardcore like Jillian from the Biggest Loser and that’s a good thing since I love Jillian!

Tyler and I get to celebrate 4th of July two times. Tomorrow night is Anthem Independence Day at the park, then Friday we’ll be going to a friend’s to celebrate too. Next week my big sister from Sigma Sigma Sigma will be finally here!! I can’t wait to see her and finally hang out more often.

Off to watch a movie with Tyler before he falls asleep.
