Weekend Cap

This weekend went by too fast! Friday night Tyler and I went to Scottsdale to a brewery to celebrate Jason’s Birthday with his family & friends. It was awesome seeing everyone again and seeing old faces too from high school. I LOVE driving on Scottsdale road but we saw 2 incidents that happened with the police that all happened on the same road.

Saturday Jason picked me up and we went to Tommy & Kelly’s pool party. The pool felt like the hottub but then I can’t imagine what the hottub felt like then! Tyler finally arrived late afternoon after work. Later in the evening, a female who was with her relatives (I think) had a seizure while in the hottub. A few people from our group went over to help and call 911. It was scary but after help came she was okay, which is good! One of the EMT guys were cute so some of the girls got excited over that!

Today Tyler and I seriously emptied Blake’s (Tyler’s brother) room for his arrival on Tuesday. I’m not sure how I feel about that…I’m kind of numb. I actually enjoy just living with Tyler but I know that having Blake live with us will help us a lot with saving money. Mom did our budget for us and we found out that we’re going to save A LOT every month and even with saving a lot we could actually afford to eat out EVERYDAY!! How tempting is that!!? Haha but seriously we want to save, save & save!!

Mom and I finally ordered stuff to create wedding invitations so I feel better that we’re already getting started on that. Mom, on the other hand, is driving me insane with adding more & more people to the list. We’re over the limit of how many we can invite – which is fine but that means we have to pay more money. Now I gave mom homework to get me all the addresses of her friends – even our neighbors’ house number!

Speaking of homework, my sister starts her second year of high school tomorrow – August 11th! She said she’s getting up at 5AM. I remember rolling out of bed at the last minute in high school (well, and college too)! Is summer ending? I feel like it just started….and it doesn’t really take a toll on me since I’m not going back to school…ever!!

Rocky Point, Mexico

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Friday morning I woke up at 4:30AM and we were all still so tired so we decided not to follow the others in the RV to Rocky Point and just go on our own later and meet them there. We left the house at 11AM and arrived Rocky Point at 3PM. We went to the condo where we were staying at….and it was just like the first episode of Real World. Everyone grabbing the bedroom they wanted – Tyler even put his ID on the bed while we went out to the car to bring in our stuff.

We met a lot of new people and they are all so welcoming and really nice! Unfortunately a lot of things happened this weekend with the cops. Two people’s bags got stolen from their bedroom around 8PM. So things were crazy the first night. They had to go the station to fill out paperwork and stuff because their money, IDs, and passports were in the bags too. So basically they had nothing on them just what they were wearing, which sucked. A few of us decided to go to Pink Cadillac to celebrate Rachel’s Birthday at midnight. We stayed up until 4:30AM and woke up around 9AM. Some of us went to the beach while the others went back to the police station and shopping downtown.

We had so much fun swimming in the ocean and going on the banana boat. After that, Jason took us off-roading with the ranger. That was so much fun but it was a bumpy, sandy, hot, & humid ride! Most of us got bruises from banging our heads everywhere. We were covered in sand afterwards and it looked like we aged during the ride!

We went to The Crows Nest for dinner and we all sat outside so the view was beautiful!!! Almost everyone was EXHAUSTED and burnt out right after dinner. Some of us went to Manny’s Club but Tyler and I left early. Apparently I was dreaming that I was being kidnapped by a Mexican while in bed so Tyler said I was screaming bloody murder and kicking in bed. It felt so real! I’m glad it wasn’t real.

Overall, Rocky Point was awesome! A lot more happened but “whatever happens in Mexico stays in Mexico”. I’m really glad to have spent the weekend with such awesome people! I’m looking forward to new memories to create in Arizona.

Haley and Chase left this afternoon. :( I was busy cleaning up and getting ready for Tyler’s mom and brother’s stay here with us. They arrived tonight and they’re staying until Friday or Saturday. So much to do this week with them while I still go to interviews and look for a job.

I have two photo albums on Facebook from Mexico – Album #1 & Album #2. If you have Facebook you can see more photos of me on my profile.

Tyler and I met up with mom at Stonebridge Manor where we’re getting married at. We met with the photographer that we chose, Fotos by Flint. I was pleased with Flint and his work he showed us. We basically went through the timeline of what will be happening and when/how we’ll take pictures. After meeting with Flint, we met with the florist from Zuzu’s Petals. I orginially wanted all red calla lilies for the bridesmaids and that didn’t work out since it’s more expensive. I’ll have the white calla lilies for myself and the bridesmaids will have red roses. At least I get calla lilies. ;-)

Tonight we went to Drinx, a bar, to meet up with Jason and other people for drinks before seeing Sex and the City movie. It was so much fun meeting more and actually getting to know more people. It’s a pain living at home all the way up North when everyone’s down in Scottsdale/Tempe/Mesa area. A lot of job opportunities in our field are in Scottsdale/Mesa so I think we’ll be looking for an apartment in the area. Definitely can’t wait to move out already. Haha!
