My Crazy Family & Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

My Mom warned me the bunch (Mom, Dad, Grandma & Dad’s best friend Craig) were going to come over tonight to wish us Happy Anniversary since we didn’t see them last night. I usually can’t hear the doorbell (I need to get a doorbell flasher soon!) so Tyler tells me that they’re here and I see my dad dressed like this…

What the heck!? This is not what he normally wears everyday. He has seen Tyler wear black gym shoes before and thinks it’s okay for him to wear black socks & shoes with shorts. We tried explaining to him that he cannot do that! Grandma had the giggles and could not stop giggling over dad’s outfit.

Then Mom tells us to leave and go to our room while she went to the car to get something for us. The bunch got us a gift for our anniversary and I’m in love with it!

I would have never thought of getting something like this! I love how I can change it later on with seashells, pine cones, pumpkins, and etc. Just perfect!

The rest of the evening was full of more laughing & spilling our drinks.

Grandma took a shot of Goldschlager! I think my Mom scared Tyler a little bit…

Mom: Did you do it last night?!

Tyler: What?

Mom: You heard me!!

Dad’s best friend, Craig, is in town visiting. They’ve been best friends since the bachelor days! I swear men have it easier with friendships than women do.

Mom insisted we pucker up! I have to admit I was one of those girls in high school who puckered up when taking pictures of myself and unfortunately my sister was paying attention to me because she does it now all the time. Apparently Mom wants to do the same now…

I’m thankful for… my family who makes me laugh all the time and is always there for me especially when we only live 5 miles away from each other. Tyler’s family who we wish we could see more often & we’re already counting down the days when we’ll see them next time. My awesome friends and new blogging friends who I love talking to through gchat, Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and e-mail. AND SO MUCH MORE!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I’m Pumped for Christmas!

This weekend I’ve been getting into the Holiday spirit! Saturday night we celebrated my Mom’s Birthday and went to the Christmas tree lighting ceremony where we live. Apparently it is a big deal since it’s the tallest real animated tree in Arizona. Tyler and I had to laugh at the people we saw bundled up in their coats, wearing hats, & UGG boots. It was chilly but not that cold! I remember the brutal snowy days in New York and how I wanted to cry because my ears hurt from the strong painful wind! I’m so glad we don’t have that weather here but I do miss bundling up sometimes. We’ll have to make a trip up to snowy Flagstaff later in January.

I stayed up Saturday night designing our Christmas cards. I hope to get them mailed our next week and if I do, that will be so amazing since I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to mail.

I have to admit that I’m one of those people who decorate early. After emptying the box with decorations, I realized that we don’t have a lot of decorations for a house. We had enough for an apartment. Tyler thought I was insane when I asked him to pretty please bring the Christmas tree in from the garage. I’ll keep begging him everyday this week… and hopefully he’ll cave in. I’ve always wanted a Christmas tree up at least for Thanksgiving.

I’m so glad I have 2 and half days of work this week!

Carving Pumpkins & Haunted Houses

Monday, October 26th, 2009

I love waiting until a few days before Halloween to get a good deal on pumpkins instead of buying one medium pumpkin for 5 bucks!

Tyler and I spent Saturday evening carving our pumpkins and roasted our pumpkin seeds with brown sugar & cinnamon (yummy recipe here).

We went to Fear Farm with my parents and spent $18 bucks for 4 haunted houses which I find a good deal since I know there are some haunted houses that are $15 for 1 haunted house!

The first haunted house I was dragging on my Dad for dear life since it was pitch black for a while. I almost peed my pants when there was a “bad guy” riding on a horse and bolted at me. No joke! I know they’re not allowed to touch us but they still did an amazing job at getting in our face but not crossing the line by touching us.

Have a wonderful Halloween week! Finally Halloween is not in the middle of the week this year.
