A Glittery House For The Holidays!

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

I LOVE the Holiday season! I was tempted to put the Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving but that didn’t happen. The weekend after Thanksgiving, I told Tyler I wanted to get the tree up and decorated. He wasn’t looking forward to it because putting together a fake tree can be a pain sometimes. It wasn’t too bad though since we had an extra hand this year. Thanks to our friend who is living with us for a while!

I had no problem filling the house up with Christmas decorations. I even forgot I had bought some new ornaments last year after Christmas that were on sale.

I’m still in love with the stockings I bought from Crate & Barrel a few years ago. I’m a sucker for polka dots!

See the little bird? I found it at Kohl’s for $9! I know I’m not serving cake any time soon so I filled the cake stand with my favorite ornaments. It’s just easy to go and fill things up with ornaments all over the house.

I purchased the red foil chargers in 2008 for our wedding and I love how we can re-use them during the Holidays. The polka dots plates are from our Kate Spade china set. I received the cute Santa plates as a hostess gift from my parents’ friends.

This is my favorite frame and picture of Tyler and I from our wedding day. We recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary on November 24th. The day before Thanksgiving. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years when I feel like it was just not too long ago.

We’re still working on decorating the outside. Have you started decorating for the Holidays?

Halloween Wine Bottles

Monday, October 25th, 2010

A friend’s mom came across this article the other day and when she told me I thought this was a fabulous idea! I’m not a wine person but I happened to have a few empty bottles around the house from previous parties. Tyler was aboard with this project since it required spray painting and it’s his favorite thing to do!

This was a quick & painless project that was done before we carved pumpkins & baked the seeds. If you do this project, do share pictures of your Halloween wine bottles!

I love it when our neighbors get into the holidays and decorate. We changed our light bulbs outside with orange light bulbs. We got cobwebs ready to add outside on the day of Halloween since it might rain later this week.

Have a wonderful Halloween week!!

My Crazy Family & Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

My Mom warned me the bunch (Mom, Dad, Grandma & Dad’s best friend Craig) were going to come over tonight to wish us Happy Anniversary since we didn’t see them last night. I usually can’t hear the doorbell (I need to get a doorbell flasher soon!) so Tyler tells me that they’re here and I see my dad dressed like this…

What the heck!? This is not what he normally wears everyday. He has seen Tyler wear black gym shoes before and thinks it’s okay for him to wear black socks & shoes with shorts. We tried explaining to him that he cannot do that! Grandma had the giggles and could not stop giggling over dad’s outfit.

Then Mom tells us to leave and go to our room while she went to the car to get something for us. The bunch got us a gift for our anniversary and I’m in love with it!

I would have never thought of getting something like this! I love how I can change it later on with seashells, pine cones, pumpkins, and etc. Just perfect!

The rest of the evening was full of more laughing & spilling our drinks.

Grandma took a shot of Goldschlager! I think my Mom scared Tyler a little bit…

Mom: Did you do it last night?!

Tyler: What?

Mom: You heard me!!

Dad’s best friend, Craig, is in town visiting. They’ve been best friends since the bachelor days! I swear men have it easier with friendships than women do.

Mom insisted we pucker up! I have to admit I was one of those girls in high school who puckered up when taking pictures of myself and unfortunately my sister was paying attention to me because she does it now all the time. Apparently Mom wants to do the same now…

I’m thankful for… my family who makes me laugh all the time and is always there for me especially when we only live 5 miles away from each other. Tyler’s family who we wish we could see more often & we’re already counting down the days when we’ll see them next time. My awesome friends and new blogging friends who I love talking to through gchat, Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and e-mail. AND SO MUCH MORE!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
