Mike and Ike

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

As most of us know Hurricane Ike is on its way to Texas. Amy (who’s in Austin) and I were talking and figured out WHY this is happening.

Mike and Ike had a huge fight. Enough said! Ike is extremely upset as we all can see, but then I guess Mike got upset later this evening because he came through Phoenix with a dust storm. I love every storm we have here in Phoenix. Tyler and I were doing errands this evening so it was fun to drive through it. Poor kids who were riding their bikes, they had to stop and cover their eyes until the worst was over. As I looked in my rearview mirror I couldn’t really see anything as this huge gloomy dust storm was coming up North…it was like we were all driving away from it before The Mist got to us. It’s actually my first September in Phoenix since the last few years I was in Rochester so it’s actually nice to feel the change as the temperature drops.

Mom came over last night and we completed the invitations!!! I’m mailing them out tomorrow. I took pictures of them but want to wait a while since some of my readers are receiving their invitations and would like to see it for themselves. Patience is a virtue.

P.S. As you can see, new design!! The old one was screaming for a makeover.

Baby Fever?

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

Tyler and I went to Office Max and 30 minutes went by with cutting, cutting, & more cutting. We realized we were nowhere near done so Tyler asked them how much it would be if they cut it for us and $14!!! Good deal and saved us a lot of time! After that I went and got my hair highlighted. The usual. I’m done with messing up my hair. :P

My sister had a project to do for school. She had to make a baby to care for all week. Flour with a baby outfit & a little ball as the head with a baby cap on. My dad added golf balls to the feet and we had to sew the head to the body and sew the pacifier to the head. She’s lucky she only has to do this. Back in middle school, I had to carry a baby that was programmed to cry at different times throughout the day and in the middle of the night. I had to wear a bracelet that had a key on it.  To stop the crying, I had to put the key in the back of the baby and keep it turned in until it stops crying. It was exhausting because I couldn’t have someone babysit because of the bracelet. That weekend I happened to have a lot of plans. A friend wanted me to help her look for a homecoming dress so I had to carry the baby around the mall, and to the high school football game, and a family dinner where my grandpa got really upset over it!

Lauren was carrying the baby so I decided to stuff a pillow up my shirt to look pregnant. I teased mom telling her to save me the baby outfit that Lauren’s using for her baby because we may need it next year.

When we got home, Tyler and I took the garbage out and one apartment on the first floor’s windows were open so we could see through and we saw a guy looking at porn. I told Tyler we should yell “OH MY!!!!!!” and run off but we didn’t, hahaha!

Oh..did I mention how much I love rubber cement!?

Liquid Diet

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

I loved being able to sleep in this morning!! It truly sucks that Tyler works on Saturdays. I went to Office Max today to get my wedding invitations printed. Now I can’t change the design anymore which is good because I was tired of being indecisive on the design. I’m satisfied with it now!! Tyler and I have to go back tomorrow to cut them ourselves since there’s no way I’m paying them $1 per cut.

I had my evaluation review at work on Friday and it was excellent!  The only thing I need to work on a little bit is being more assertive with the agents because there are times where they push to get their way and I need to tell them no they can’t do that because of our brand and marketing rules. They also said they still want me to stay after Internship and of course, I will! I wish they’d tell me now how much I’d make but I guess I’ll have to wait and see.

Starting Monday, I will be going on a liquid diet for a week with some fruits/vegetables that’s it! I need to lose some weight for my wedding. My wedding dress fits but would fit a little bit better if I lost some weight. I’m determined to do this and will stick with it! I told my co-worker, Kristina, that it would just be best to go to prison and workout in my own cell all day long and eat crappy food…no temptations! :P
