Life’s a Cycle

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Now that I’m working and not in college anymore, time does go by fast! It’s the same cycle everyday.

We go to bed, I read, Tyler does the light thing (again last night!) then it’s time to get up and do the whole morning routine – which I sometime wish I was a boy so I could just hop into the shower and dash out without having to put make up on & dry my hair then frantically run out to work and always arriving a few minutes late. Cycle repeats everyday.

Tyler and I made a goal to save money on food and have been cooking dinner every night now instead of eating out. After dinner tonight, we don’t have food anymore. We need to restock…seriously the fridge is almost empty except for mainly slimfast, yogurt, milk, & cheese.

Off to bed to repeat the cycle.

My New Love for Ziploc!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

I just worked out tonight at the gym – I love it since no one’s there at night except me and Tyler. I find it a bit frustrating because the TV is not in view when I’m exercising. I’ve heard people say what really helps them keep exercising for a long period of time is listening to music or reading. I’d love to be able to do that but how can people read while bobbing up and down on the elliptical bike or treadmill?

Anyways, I notice that lately I don’t want to cook that much and I found out about Ziploc Zip ‘n Steam which is amazing! I cannot wait to try this. I actually think Tyler and I will attempt a weekly menu to save time! We’ll also save money even though I know buying healthy food can be expensive.

I also find it inspiring to look at other people’s weight loss stories and see how far they have come and to know that they can do it and so can I.

New Beginning…Not Looking Back

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Last night we had friends come over. We played The Pit all night! It’s an awesome game and we were a little bit loud… I emphasize ‘a little bit’…seriously. You can guess right… the security guy came again. He came back in November when we all got home from our Bachelor & Bachelorette parties… things kind of got out of hand that night. Anyways, I was peeved and annoyed because I seriously feel like we’ve got to be tiptoeing around the apartment all day and night long.

We’re ready to move out now, but our lease’s not up until July. We met with a realtor who will start working with us to find us a house. Today was the day I finally feel like an “adult” especially with all the talking of what we want and what we need to do. We have a lot of things to do for the next few months getting prequalified for a loan & looking at houses & making offers!

Starting tomorrow – I’m going to eat healthy & go to the gym! I’ve decided I’ll weigh in every Friday and keep track of my weight loss from there.
