My Life’s Out of Control & Want Some Salmon?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

I love me some seafood! My mom made salmon for dinner over the weekend. Salmon is good especially to dip in ketchup. Don’t tell me I’m not the only one that does that!

Mama Vik’s Recipe
- Put some lemon juice on the salmon
- Season it with garlic salt and lemon pepper
- Put a few butter pats on top to keep it moist
- Slice some thick onions and put it on top
- Wrap in foil and bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or grill it

Anyways, my life has been out of control lately….heck, even our house is out of control! I’m determined to get my life and house back in shape this week or weekend. Who says spring cleaning needs to be done in the spring only?

I have been going to the gym a lot more lately. Last night dad and I were on the treadmill while Tyler went downstairs to play some basketball. There were some guys playing basketball and they asked Tyler to join them. He didn’t really want to play a game since he’s more of a football & baseball guy than a basketball guy. I smiled and quietly laughed when Tyler looked up at me. It was so funny… like we both knew he wasn’t going to make awesome shots and he didn’t. It was fun to watch him play anyways.

I asked him if he got any of their phone numbers and he looked at me like I was stupid. I guess girls only do that.

Lately Tyler has been talking a lot about P90X since he is going to do it. I swear he cracks me up when he explains how he wants to look. Starting with his arms, he will show me how big they’re going to get then show me how his chest is going to be ripped with a beautiful 6-pack and the entire time he’s saying pow-pow-pow for each one of them (in sign language). He says I’ll be drooling over him soon and not Nick Lachey. :)

EcoParty Light Bulbs & 2011 Goals

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

A friend of ours had eco-party light bulbs in his bathroom.
You can guess what we did in the bathroom…and it’s sad to say we’re all 26 years old.
After all, our parents say we’re still kids.

My smoking hot husband! Blurry equals signing and that happens a lot with deaf people.

At least we had fun!

Perhaps it’s time to share my goals for 2011.

Lose weight. This clearly is a problem for me. I did lose weight after joining a sweat challenge in the area but then it got too expensive so I couldn’t continue and finish the challenge. Let’s just say it was about $250+ a week. Now I’m back on Weight Watchers and making it a routine to go to the gym more often. I’m trying to change my mindset to make sure that a trip to the gym is on top of my daily list. I have also started wearing my BodyMedia armband and I’m excited to actually be aware of how many calories I’m eating and burning. It also calculates how many steps I’m getting in daily & hours of sleep I’m getting. Pretty cool, right?

Debt-Free. Well, not entirely 100% debt-free but at least pay off all of our credit cards. After looking at our budget, we realized we could actually save more money and be able to do things if we didn’t have credit cards to pay off. So we’re anxious to make it happen this year! We have been doing great with earning extra money from Yellow & Savvy Design, rent money from Joe since he’s living with us and things we sell on Craigslist.

Vacation. Tyler and I haven’t gone on our honeymoon yet! We’re so anxious to go on our honeymoon soon. Although it looks like we might not get to go anywhere until later after summer. My co-worker is going on maternity leave in March and then Tyler’s company doesn’t really allow vacation days during the summer. Hopefully we can make it happen! I’d love to go somewhere alone with Tyler and be technology-free which means no phones (and sports)!

Overall my main goal this year is to really take one day at a time and live in the present instead of dwelling on the past and thinking too much about the future. I have a great feeling about 2011 and I’m going to make sure it’s a great year! I also hope you have a great year too!

Hide & Seek at a 26th Birthday Party – Are We Normal?

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

My darling husband turned 26 last Friday. He was lucky to be spoiled all weekend starting off with dinner at Red Robin’s with my family & close friends. Thanks to mom & dad for dinner! Unfortunately Tyler had to work on Saturday so I was busy making sure I had everything set for the party that evening.

Stacy (our roommate) and I made the birthday banner. I didn’t want to spend money on this project so I just used paper that we had in the house and markers. I realize that I should have made the letters bigger but oh well.

Apparently my mom thinks it’s okay to play football in MY house but of course it wouldn’t be okay to do that at her house.

Tyler loves the color orange so I thought it would be fun to get food that were orange. There are way too many bad food that are orange — goldfish, cheetos & cheez-it!

We have awesome roommates (Joe & Stacy) and had to get some photos taken before our friends started showing up.

We had to play hide & seek which was part of a play with the game called Quelf. I truly hated this game when I was growing up. I’d rather play tag or any other kind of game except hide & seek.

It’s nice to get together with our friends when we can since we live all over the valley…although I think our friends would disagree and say that Tyler and I live far away from everyone else.

I told Tyler he had to choose what he wanted for his birthday (Flip, Blu-ray DVD player, or a mountain bike). I was secretly hoping he was going to pick the blu-ray DVD player since we need a new one anyways. But I knew he wanted the bike the most. It was so cute to watch him test ride all of the bikes. He was like a little boy on a Christmas morning as he chose the bike he wanted.

I’m so grateful to have him as my husband and best friend! I still can’t believe he’s 26 now. The other night I asked him if he felt like he was 26 and he said no he still feels like he’s 19. I’m not sure yet if that’s a good thing or not.
